Asp .Net JavaScript Services by Steve Sanderson

Intro

Today I don't have the energy to write an entire post so I think I'm going to cheat :)

But no worries, I've brought really cool stuff this time offered by our friends from the ASP.Net Community Stand up group. As you may be already aware, this guys are basically the heads of Microsoft framework development group. In their last stand up they've talked about a new beta tool which seems to be the next "new thing".

Today, our guest is Steve Sanderson and he's working on the "ASP .Net JavaScript Services" which is in alpha/beta phase right now. What Steve has been working on is a new tool to make you life easier if you are working with Angular/Knockout/React frameworks. Some of the features demo today are:

  1. What we can do for SPA
  2. Examples
    1. Angular 2
      1. Generator: this is a Yeoman generator for .Net Core
      2. Webpack dev middleware - HMR
      3. Prod builds (Caution! this is cool stuff)
      4. Prerendering (This too!)
    2. React
      1. State-preserving HMR - direct editing
      2. Maybe Redux debugging
    3. Other features
      1. Cache priming, validation, lazy-loading
